Wednesday evenings at Performance Plus have turned into party central, with week after week of celebrations for our students who have done a remarkable job this year. This just in from Ellen Barnaby - "Robbin AKA Ledgewood's Breakin' In CDX RA is ranked 3rd for Bernese Mountain Dogs in AKC Obedience Open A for 2009! Congratulations to the Mayflower Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club on hosting their first ever obedience and rally trials at Performance Plus! Kudos for a successful trial! Another round of applause for students and friends at the Mayflower Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club trials on January 23rd and 24th, 2010. A long list of accomplishments to share: Congratulations to Joan Lubrano and her Golden Retriever for not only taking the plunge and entering their first trial, they also earned their first leg in Novice A on Sunday, taking third place! Congratulations to Joan Corr and her Bernese Mountain Dog Willie who also earned their first leg in Novice A on Sunday! Positive comments from judge Elizabeth Chase, who said it was one of the nicest Utility A classes she's judged. Although there were few qualifiers, every one of you had solid performances. Good job to Melissa DePasquale and Brody, Judith Graves and Pooka, Joyce O'Connor and Bailey, and Jackie Owens and Jingles. Huge congratulations to Jane Tully and her Boxer Finn on earning their UD title in the Utility A class under judge Elizabeth Chase with an impressive score of 190 and second place! Let's celebrate! After a long hiatus from trialing, Rebecca Ames and her Rottweiler Libby performed beautifully in Utility A, earning their first UD leg and a first place ribbon with a score of 191 1/2. Congratulations! A very focused Shirley Cardello and her lab Emmy, earned their CDX in style with a 4th place finish and a great score of 190 1/2 in the Open A class under judge Robert Harris on Saturday. Shirley and Emmy achieved their title in just 5 trials. Wahoo! It was an emotional moment for Jane Small and her Poodle Holly when they achieved their CDX with a second place finish in Open A on Sunday. It's been a tough year for Jane due to serious injuries, yet, they did it! Congratulations! Susan Lindberg and her lab Luke also earned their CDX on Saturday in Open A and followed up on Sunday with a bumper leg. Congratulations! Wow! Sue LeVasseur and her Airedale Callie, took 3rd place in Open B under judge Elizabeth Chase with an exceptional performance, earning a score of 197 1/2! Paulette and Rush know how to start off the new year with a bang! On New Year's Day in Palmetto Florida, Paulette with Rush at the young age of 4, earned their MACH 3! Rush is now known as NAC MACH3 Bare Cove Blu Light Special. Congratulations to a great team on this impressive accomplishment!
Paulette and her Flatcoat Retriever, Jetta, also had a terrific weekend in Palmetto Florida, earning 4 first placements and 3 second placements in the 24 inch division. Congratulations! Joyce Philbrook reports an exciting win for Harley, her 6 month and 1 day old Havanese, who took BOW under judge Mr. James Frederikson at the Windham County Kennel Club show in W. Springfield with a 4 point major! This was only Harley's second show, and owner handled! Congratulations to Joyce and Harley--great job, both of you! On Friday December 4th, Sue LeVasseur's Airedale 'Corey' went Winners Bitch with a 3 point major at the Ladies Dog Club show at the Bay Colony Cluster in Providence RI, and on Saturday and Sunday at the Eastern Dog Club show, Corey was Reserve Major. Sue is well on her way to another well-balanced Airedale with titles at both ends! Congratulations! Congratulations to Diane Hixon and her gorgeous Belgian Tervuren 'Draco' on earning their Rally Novice title under Judge Elizabeth Chase. On to competition obedience, Diane? This past Wednesday, we celebrated Donna Benoit and her Golden Retriever 'Socket' on earning their UD in Utility B on Saturday November 21st at the Windham County Kennel Club obedience trial at the Springfield Cluster. Cheers! Sue LeVasseur and her young Airedale Corey earned their AKC Novice Jumpers With Weaves title at the Springfield trials on November 22nd! The following weekend Corey went Best of Breed at the Wachusett Kennel Club breed show. Corey has it all-beauty and brains-Congratulations! Congratulations to the terrific team of Paulette Swartzendruber and her Sheltie Rush on winning the medi class in both International Jumpers and Standard at the Springfield Cluster. Paulette and Rush set the standard for excellence with Paulette's outstanding handling skills and communication to her dog. Paulette gives the credit to Rush, stating he is the most honest, reliable dog she's ever trained. They are a sight to behold. Darlene Hunt and her Papillon, Fabulous, earned their AX with a first place finish November 20th, 2009 at the Springfield cluster. Congratulations to this talented team! This is Darlene's first serious competition dog, and she is having the time of her life with her! Great news keeps pouring in! Shirley Cardello and her labrador retriever Emmy earned their second leg with an enthusiastic performance in Open A, winning the class under judge Susan King at the Concord Dog Training Club Trial Sunday November 15th! Congratulations and keep up the good work! Joyce O'Connor and her miniature poodle Bailey earned their second leg in Utility in the ribbons at the Concord Dog Training Club trial Sunday November 15th. Wahoo Joyce and Bailey! Marcia Welch and her Australian Shepherd Hannah finished their Open title in the ribbons with a third place at the CDTC trial on Sunday November 15th. Congratulations on your CDX! Allison Vicuna and her Boxer Molly earned their CD title with a terrific score of 195 at the CRDTC trial on Saturday November 14th. Judge Susan King praised Molly's working ability and Molly's attention and attitude. Allison and Molly earned their title in three straight trials. Way to go! More kudos for Donna Benoit and Socket on earning their second leg in Utility B with a terrific score of 195 at the CRDTC on November 15th under Judge Susan King. Wahoo! Another great weekend for Beth Teixeira, this time with her Labrador Retriever Leah, earning their UD at the OTCRI trial on Saturday, November 7th. Leah is now known as Willcare Macgregor's Princess UD NA. All your friends at Performance Plus are proud of you--congratulations! Fantastic weekend for Donna Benoit and her Golden Retriever, Sunfire Winthrop Socket To Me CDX AX AXJ, on earning their first leg in Utility B November 7th under Judge Ed Whitney at the OTCRI trial with a 4th place and score of 191, and on their third place win in Open B under Judge Jim Ashton with a score of 198 1/2! The next day at the Nathan Hale Obedience Club trial, Donna and Socket scored 199 in Open B, not only winning the class, but taking High In Trial! Huge congratulations to you 3 times! Great weekend of successes for many friends and students of Performance Plus at the Bullmastiff trials October 31st and November 1st, 2009! Here's the report: Allison Vicuna and her Boxer, Molly, got their second leg in Novice B on Saturday, making it look easy with a great score of 193. One more leg to go! Congratulations! Wahoo to Shirley Cardello and her Labrador Retriever on earning their first leg in Open A on Saturday! Way to go, Shirley and Emmy! Joyce O'Connor and her Poodle, Bailey, picked up their first UD leg on Saturday taking second place in the class. Fantastic job! Jane Tully and her Boxer, Riley, earned their CD on Saturday with an outstanding performance in Novice B, not only winning the class on Saturday, they took High in Trial with a 197 1/2! Sunday, Riley, AKA CH Brush Hill's All Riled Up CD RN, got a bumper leg and a first place with a score of 197. We'll bet Jane is flying high! Jenny Dickinson and Shadowbrook It's a Twister finished his CD in style on Sunday with a 3rd place ribbon and a great score of 195 in the Novice B class. After two first place legs in Open, Lynn Horrigan and her Border Collie, Joey, earned their CDX with an animated performance! Terrific! More great news! Congratulations to our CGC-TDI students on passing their CGC/TDI tests Saturday October 31st! Way to go Kelly and Shelby, Alice and Max, Sarah and Scout, Jessica and Dexter and Rocco, Catherine and Charlie, Joan and Stella, Cindy and Hetty, Stephanie and Karluk, Dawn and Lilly, and Beth and Leah! Fab loves trialing at Amherst, earning 2 legs in Excellent B JWWs and a leg in Excellent A Standard, all with first or second placements! Previously, Darlene Hunt reported that Fabulous earned her AXJ title in Amherst NH, running her Excellent A JWWs course in just 32.28 seconds, taking first place! Wahoo! Congratulations to Carolyn Goudreau and her Golden Retriever, Gunther for earning their Companion Dog Excellent title from the Open B class under Judge David Maurer at Souhegan Kennel Club's trial held in Amhest, NH on October 10th. Carolyn and Gunther had a beautiful run earning a score of 196 and coming in 5th out of a class of 22. Their CDX title was achieved with an average score of 194...not too shabby. Wahoo! and Hip Hip Hooray for Carolyn and Gunther. Allison Vicuna reports that her Boxer, Molly, earned her first leg in the Novice B class under judge Nancy Withers at the American Boxer Club Regional Specialty in Maryland on October 9, 2009. Molly was 'awesome'! She performed with great attitude and attention despite tough outdoor conditions, including the wind blowing a flower pot off a nearby table during her heel free exercize! Congratulations Allison and Molly! To top off the great week, Allison's young Boxer, Izzy, finished her Rally novice title! Congratulations to Nancy Droukas and her young Golden Retriever, Grip, who earned a Junior Hunter title along with a bumper leg at an AKC Hunt Test hosted by the Labrador Retriever Club of Greater Boston on September 19th and 20th. Grip is officially now known as Sunfire Hold On Tight JH. Congratulations to Shirley Cardello and her Labrador Retriever, Emmy, who earned their rally title in style with a high scoring first place finish. Emmy is now known as Danbridge Kathryns Emmy Award CD RN. Huge congratulations to Henry Rines and his Golden Retriever, Cricket, on earning their third utility leg in style with a first place at the Carroll County Kennel Club trial! Cricket is now known as MACH Mirasol's Fairy Teleggio UD OHF. Henry, we are all so proud of you. Congratulations to Art and Linda Everly and their two Samoyeds on their many accomplishments! Their young girl Ella added OA to her name on October 25th, 2009 at the Granite State Shetland Sheepdog agility trial and NAJ October 4th at the Indiana Collie Club trial. Ella also earned her WS, Working Samoyed, awarded for accumlating 1000 points in excursion sledding, carting and packhiking. Siri earned his OAP on September 20th at the Wachusett K.C. agility trial. Both dogs earned titles September 19, 2009 at the Wachusett K.C. agility trial. Siri is now known as CH Snokrest Sirius Shining Star WS CDX NAP OJP CGC. Ella is now known as SnoBelle Capella OutShines Them All WS OA NAJ CGC. Congratulations to Paul O'Connor and his Miniature Poodle, Pepper, on their Rally Excellent title achieved under judge Dr. Lappin on September 12, 2009 in East Falmouth. Paul and Pepper are an inspiration to those of us just starting out in competition, putting a CD title as well on his 'pet'. Paul and Pepper are moving on to agility! Darlene Hunt and her Papillon did it again! 'Fab' earned first place in Novice Fast, her OA title along with 2 legs and first place in Excellent JWWs and first place and 1 leg in Excellent Standard in wet, cold conditions at the Cape agility trials the weekend of October 16th. She previously earned NA and NAJ titles with first place in both! Fabulous! Update--Fabulous now has both her OA and her OAJ. In Darlene's words, "Fabulous 'rocks'. She is a dream." Congratulations to Janet Steeger and her Australian Shepherd 'Nealy' on earning their CDX at Topsfield with a second place finish. Janet and Nealy had terrific scores in tough venues, winning second place ribbons in two out of 3 legs!
